| At 10:39pm Saturday night, Nanuet FD was alerted to relocate one pumper (8-1750) to neighboring New City FD's main firehouse (9-100). New City (Dept 9) was operating at a working structure fire at 24 Woodhaven Dr. along with mutual aid from Congers (Dept 3), Hillcrest (Dept 6), and West Nyack (Dept 24)
Shortly after arriving at 9-100, 8-1750 along with 2nd Assistant Chief AJ Knapp were ordered to relocate to the scene of the 2 story residential fire in the northern end of New City. Upon arriving on scene minutes later, Asst Chief Knapp and the crew were put in place as a FAST (Firefighter Assist & Search Team) team to replace West Nyack (Dept 24) who were being put to work.
With the majority of the fire knocked down, Nanuet stood by until it was determined that all fire suppression was complete and a FAST team would no longer be needed. After assisting with overhaul and suppression of any remaining hot-spots, New City Fire Department Chief Mike Graff released 8-1750 & its crew at approximately 1:00am. |
