On Monday afternoon, while already operating at an automatic alarm and an odor of gas call simultaneously, Nanuet FD was alerted to respond to busy Rt. 304 near the intersection of Rt. 59 for a possible car fire.

Arriving on scene moments later, Chief Todd Giraudin (8-1) confirmed a working fire with no occupants trapped.

Crews made quick work of the blaze, reopening the road within a half hour.

During the incident, Nanuet FD would be dispatched to a 4th simultaneous call as well.

Returning to normal service less than an hour later, Nanuet volunteers would enjoy a few hours of rest before Monday night's regularly scheduled training drill that evening.
